Saturn Retrograde Guides- 6/29/2024

Welcome to your Saturn retrograde guide! Here you'll find all the details of the retrograde itself, including the station dates, sign/degree of the station, and the astrological energy of the planet as a whole. You'll also find your personalized retrograde guide based on your rising sign! This guide is meant to help you navigate the retrograde energy and see it as an opportunity for growth. Saturn retrogrades are a time of trials and wisdom. It’s like getting to retake a test to prove our effort, devotion, or diligence. If we’ve been putting in the work and paying attention, this will be a time of honing skills and revealing wisdom. If we haven’t been putting in the work, then we can expect delays, redirection of energy, and a chance to get back on track. These guides are meant to be just that, guides. They aren't going to tell you how to escape the retrograde or dodge its influence. What they will do though is give you a better understanding of the energy at hand. I hope they help you to see retrogrades as opportunities rather than obstacles.

I'll also be including advice from my tarot cards in each of the guides. The card for each rising sign will further refine as to how we can make the best of this astrological event. So, sit back, relax, and don't fear the retrograde. I promise we'll get through it together. Also, "Rx" means retrograde and "Dx" means direct. That's just some shorthand you'll see me use throughout the post.

The Conditions of Saturn

Saturn stations retrograde approximately once a year for a period of about 4.5 months. The last time Saturn was retrograde was June 17th, 2023 in the sign of Pisces. Since the current retrograde will be happening in the same sign, you can look back at June-November of 2023 for some clues as to what this retrograde might hold. It will be a continuation of the lessons that Saturn in Pisces has to teach, as well as testing us on what we’ve learned since then. Old hardships may pop up in new ways, so stay on your toes and be ready to face obstacles that you thought were long put to rest. Saturn strives for greatness, so we’re going to be put through our paces before we can move to the next phase of the school of Saturn.

Saturn in Pisces is an interesting mix. It sees the value of magic, dreams, and the psychic realm, but it also can’t help but be grounded in reality. Saturn wants to take the daydreams of Pisces and turn them into gold. If you have Pisces energy or know Piscean people, then you know that grounding them is no easy task. Saturn in Pisces tries to get us to get real with ourselves and our otherworldly desires. If we want to see progress in the material world, it has to come from hard work and getting in tune with what it is we actually want. We can’t spend all our time musing without any real action or effort towards making the dream come alive. It can sometimes feel like Saturn is trying to crush our spirit or stifle the dream, but actually, it’s pushing us towards making it a reality. It sees the avenue to growth, expansion, wisdom, and creating the ethereal in the concrete, even if we don’t. This Rx will force us to look at our flaws, weak spots, and areas that need more attention in the material world. Saturn will shake us from the daydream and ask us to prove that we know what we’re doing. If we’ve been working on ourselves and took the previous retrograde’s lessons to heart, then we should be on track to survive this one just fine. If we haven’t been keeping up with trying to understand the hardships of Saturn, then consider this Rx an intense crash course to catch you up to speed.

The ruling planet of the Rx is Jupiter, because Saturn is in Pisces and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter. This means we should take a look at where Jupiter is and what’s going on with it during the the time of the Rx. Jupiter just ingressed into Gemini, so the house of Gemini will also be important throughout this Rx. The last time Saturn stationed Rx, Jupiter was in Taurus. Since the sign of the ruling planet is different, you’ll likely have a shift in focus on where you feel the efforts of Saturn’s lessons are impacting you. For instance, last retrograde I was focused on paying debt and getting my finances in order so I could leave my career in science. Jupiter was in my 8H, hence the money heavy signification. This time around Jupiter is in my 9H and I’m focused on my career in astrology, as well as some other projects I have cooking. I’m implementing my Saturnian lessons in a way that allows 9H expansion. Compare and contrast where Jupiter was for you previously and where it is this time around to get a clear picture of where you’re pointing the lessons of Saturn.

Below are both charts for when Saturn stations Rx and Dx:
